Inspired by the fruit belt of Southwest Michigan and the urging of my daughter Miriam, Íve been studying botanical artists like Billy Showell, Anna Mason, and others in an attempt to paint all things beautiful. Michigan provides so much subject material. Picking season, starting in late spring and going to mid fall, gives us all kinds of berries, cherries, peaches, grapes, apples, pears, mushrooms, all kinds of veggies. The farmer´s market an roadside farm stands are overflowing with abundance. Pure Michigan finery. These are a few Íve painted this year.
